A few weeks ago, Maia and I noticed her American Girl doll, Elizabeth, was experiencing a little hair loss. Neglectful hair combing combined with too vigorous hair combing will do that to a girl. We packaged her up and sent Elizabeth off to the American Girl Doll Hospital. Maia was very worried about her; she thought she'd miss her too much to let her go for so long. But, when I pointed out that as the holidays came closer her hospital stay might take longer if she waited to send Elizabeth there. Maia very much wanted her doll to be ready for the holidays and off she went.
It was a tense and worry filled few weeks. (Don't tell Maia the doll was only actually gone one week--I had lost her for two weeks! Shame on the Mama!) Maia thought they would mix her Elizabeth up with another girl's Elizabeth. I assured her that Elizabeth would come home safe and sound and she did. She looks as good as new thanks to the American Girl Hospital.
Despite Elizabeth's stay at the American Girl Hospital, she looks fresher than Maia who just came out of the shower!
She came home in a hospital gown and was wearing a hospital bracelet.
There was also a Certificate of Good Health advising Maia to give Elizabeth plenty of rest for the next week.
Which Maia promptly did. She tucked her under her new knitted blanket and gave her a goodnight kiss.
Get well soon Elizabeth!
