The last two days have been a blur of activity. All the good type of activity.

I did some shopping yesterday and had lunch with a friend at Unos. Then I went home for some serious treadmill time (and not because of eating at Unos--I was very good and had a light, light 220 cal lunch) and then it was time to get the kids from school. Tristyn needed a haircut badly and it couldn't wait any longer. We had enough time to get that done and pick him up a few pairs of pants that were needed just as badly as the haircut. Surely, he's going to stop having growth spurts at any time now, right? I think I would prefer the slow, but steady version of growing.
Rick and I had drove to work together that morning so the kids and I had to pick him after he was done with work. It worked out perfectly, though, because we stopped for a quick dinner and then went to see the "Spiderwick Chronicles."
I got punched in the face three times.
Yes, you read that right. Poor Maia was frightened a good 50% of the movie and spent about 85% of it on my lap. The first few times she jumped she threw her hands up to cover her eyes as she turned her face into me--but not before socking me in the face. She got my nose twice and my eye once. We all enjoyed the movie despite this but it's not something I would recommend for those with children who get upset at being frightened. (Maia gets frightened but I think she secretly likes to be because she kept peeking through her fingers)
Today we had lunch at McDonalds with Levy and Katie and their two children. We got to chat while all the kids ran around in the tube/playground/thingy. It was a good time and worked out quite well because I think it got some of the energy out of them before we went to the movies.

We saw the Veggie Tales Pirate Movie. It was bizarre, but in a cute way. It's been a few years since I've seen any of the Veggie Tales stuff. Poor Rick didn't know what to make of it. Here's my favorite question of his:
rick..."Why do they (the veggies) hop?"
me...."Uhh...because they don't have legs?"
Nevermind they had eyes and mouths and talked. Or they had some freaky telekinetic power that lets items they want to pick up hover and move at hand height.
Very Strange.
