Early Thursday morning, our family, Rick's mum and Riley and Bob set out for Philadelphia to spend Easter with my sister in law and her husband. The ride was our first all packed into the new van. We fit quite well! With room to spare.
The drive in was fairly uneventful. We were on the road a little before 8 am and got there at 1ish.
Cell phones are wonderful things. Rick and Becky kept in touch via cell phone and by the time we got there, Becky had lunch ready for everyone. After lunch, the kids got settled into one of the spare bedrooms and we didn't see them for HOURS. They were just that happy to be out of the car!
All of us but Rick and Nate (who was still at work) walked to a nearby playground that afternoon to give the kids some time to run around. Then, we all (okay, minus the dogs this time) went to a nearby local Italian restaurant to have dinner together. Back at Nate and Becky's house we had an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery to celebrate Rick's birthday. Late that night, we started watching one of the movies we had gotten for Rick's birthday but I was too tired and ended up going to bed. =(
