Maia has been very busy today. This morning she was invited to go to a Waffle-Eating-Flower-Planting event with her friend Macey. She was a little tired this morning when I woke her up at 8:10 (late for her!) because we (Rick, Maia and me) had been out the night before seeing Horton Hears a Who. Still, she got up mostly all smiles and got ready to go. Macey's dad took the girls with the plan that I would pick them up at 11. When I picked them up, Maia and Macey were the last two children left and they had the full run of the gym all to themselves. They were sliding and cartwheeling and running and jumping all over the place!
After we dropped Macey at home, the three of us went to the Waterfront for Rick to check out some bikes. Ever since the incident, Rick has wanted to replace his bike. We also took my bike to get it tuned up and ready for the season. Rick found a new bike--and I think it's even better than the one that was stolen--but no luck looking for a new bike for Maia. They didn't have a suitable one for her size. She did get to try on some rollerblades that I think I might be going back some time soon to purchase. Those goofy wear-'em-over-your-shoes Barbie ones suck. The cost of them will be well worth it; she did a few trial laps around the bike section with no mishaps. Now, if only I could figure out a way to help Tristyn figure out how to balance himself.
We missed lunch and it was too early for dinner. Rick suggested linner at Unos. (Yes, we really do say 'linner'<---lame, I know) Maia likes Uno's a lot because they let her make her own pizza.
First comes the sauce. It's very important to make sure there are no offending chunks of tomato on the pizza.
At least half the cheese makes its way directly to her mouth and never comes into contact with the pizza. Check out those tomato chunks--all pushed off to the size of the pizza where they belong.
Yum!
