Why? Because look what my husband bought me:
Yup. That's right. A Gigantic Grocery Getter. A Mom Mobile. I can now haul six other people (+myself) and STILL have room for groceries and my dogs.
Rick and I had talked about someday getting a bigger vehicle (mine was that blue neon I showed you the front end of just yesterday) but I really didn't expect it to be this soon! I'm very lucky and VERY GRATEFUL to be able to have this new car. Er--van. =)
And I had a fantastic 'cap off' to the rest of my day, too. We had friends over to dinner and Rick and I just had the nicest time. Probably we enjoyed as much if not more than the kids. Dinner, coversation, dessert, moms supervising a very enthusiastic watercolor painting.....um......adventure?(words apparently are failing me this morning--I blame it on the Cheez-it & diet Coke breakfast) and more conversation was the extent of our evening but it was fun.
Nice-fun-good <----these are not very inspired adjectives though I mean them with all of my heart. So often--too often before I've got hung up in the idea of complex or elaborate things. Sometimes to the point where I would become mired in inactivity. Lately, I'm really becoming able to appreciate the simpler things--nay, appreciate the simpler things AND prefer the simpler things and it makes me very happy.
Though, if anyone is listening--I wouldn't turn down that 2 year 'Round-the-World-100+Countries-All-expenses-paid-shopping-sprees-included-meet-fabulous-people-while-seeing-fabulous-things-while-I-become-a-world-renowned-author-and-simultaneously-opening-my-own-bakery-cafe. I promise. I could really get into that sort of complex!
