Rick and I left for Fisherville, VA right after I came back from walking the kids to school. The drive down was pretty ordinary but nice nonetheless. We drove through a very cute town called Berkley Springs (I think it was in W. Virginia) that had a 20,000 sq. ft antique mall in it and made a mental note to make a brief stop on the way home. I had packed brown bag lunches and we ate these somewhere in VA. It took us all the way until 1:15 to reach the meeting point.
The couple that met us were both very nice and the gentleman helped Rick load the three pieces (marble top, mirror and chest) into our Element and we were soon on our way home. My seat had to be pushed almost all the way up and I spent the whole ride with my legs contorted into various shapes. It was with relief when we stopped in Berkley Springs to browse through the antique mall and give my legs a much needed stretching out. Unfortunately, we got there at 4:30 and only had 30 minutes before closing to look around which was not nearly enough time to see all the treasures contained within. =( No matter, Rick and I were pretty anxious to complete the trip and get home. (We had a slight paranoia of hitting a bump too hard or getting rear-ended and shattering the mirror and cracking the marble in half.)
We got home after dark and began the Great Re-Arranging of Furniture. What started out just moving the old piece we had in the foyer upstairs turned into moving a chair that was upstairs into another room---which led to another chair being moved and a chest which led to us coming back downstairs. Which led to swapping our sofa and chaise in our living room and shifting around a few other things. Actually, now that we've shifted all of these things I think everything actually looks much better! Especially the living room because it appears to be larger now. The foyer will be quite spectacular I think once we figure out what we are going to put on the new pieces little candle shelves AND get our bikes out of the foyer!
