Some kids get their birthday combined with Christmas, but Maia is lucky that hers gets combined with Labor Day. Her birthday is actually today, but we celebrated it yesterday combined with a Labor Day Picnic. It worked out perfectly and we had a very good time spending our day with family and friends--both old and new friends!
And....one of our new friends...had her baby today/last night! (I saw the news via myspace, as obviously her and her husband were rather busy). Welcome Flannery Grace! =) Maia will be so excited to find out that the new baby shares her birthday.
Maia, Macey and Persephone pose for the camera for what has to be the best picture from the day. All three girls had fun playing together yesterday and FINALLY...the number of girls are catching up. Though, it will be a while before Flannery is able to be running around, too. =)
On a not so very upbeat note.....Our bikes were stolen last night! They were locked up on our front porch and someone(s) came and used a bolt cutter or some such thing and took all three! That's my bike, Rick's newly fixed bike and his brand new bike. They even took our helmets! A bit of luck was with us....and the police officer on duty last night caught one (or more) of the people who did it and recovered on of the bikes (Rick's old one) and hopefully we will find out more details when the officer comes back on duty tonight. He was off duty and sleeping when Rick went to the borough office this morning.
Instead of the lovely bike ride I had planned for this morning, I had to go for a run in Frick Park instead. It wasn't as lovely, because I was upset and angry about our bikes but I got 50 minutes in before I decided to stop and go home. I wasn't even in the slightest bit tired despite several hill climbs such as Falls Ravine Trail.
