Busy, busy day on Saturday. It was full speed ahead the moment we
woke up. Rick was very nice to me and took Maia to dance so I got to
sleep in a bit. Not too long though, because after that I had to jump
in the car with him (Tristyn too) and go to the Southside to do a car
exchange with my mother-in-law at our mechanic's garage. Then, we went
back home which was a bit of drag because the Parkway is shut down and
we had to go the long way around. Tristyn and Maia got picked up for
their sleepover and Rick and I had a quick lunch before heading to
Frick Park with the dogs. We did a 30 minutes (give or take a few)
run. From there we didn't slow down either! We rushed home to
shower, we met with someone for an appointment we had. While Rick
finished up with that appointment I hurried to the waterfront to meet a
friend for a quick coffee break. Then home again to change one more
time!
That night Rick and I met some friends at Buca di Beppo's for dinner in Robinson. I didn't care for our waittress; she was rather too abrasive to be serving people. Dinner at Buca's was as usual a satisfying and unsatisfying experience. Being there with friends and ordering family style is always a lot of fun, but as usual the food they offer was at a taste level I was capable of when I was 19 and only married a year. Ah well, it was still a good time.
Afterwards,
we followed them to a little local bar called the Brothers Grimm. It
had to be the cleanest bar I've ever been in. It didn't even feel like
a bar despite typical bar things: pool tables, band, bar, darts, etc.
This
is a very bad shot of the band. It wasn't very dark in the bar but
with my cell phone camera it is hard to get really good shots unless
I'm taking it in the full sun. The neon beer signs behind the band
didn't help any.
My friend, Jeanie with her husband, David.
Jeanie
again with Rob. Rob works with the female lead singer of this band.
She had asked him to come up and see her band and we all tagged along.
We
sat a little close to the band which made the music a bit loud but
after sharing a pitcher of Raspberry Long Island Iced Tea it really
wasn't a problem. (Hastily 'created' earplugs helped this too)
