The
kids and i made it to kennywood on wednesday. rick joined us a few
hours later. it was overcast most of the time (the sun peeped out
once) and rained once for about 20 minutes. the kids didn't mind at
all. the rides never stopped and it wasn't crowded at all. the
afternoon drizzle just emptied out the park some more. it was so empty
in fact that oftentimes no one had to even get off the ride if they
wanted to go a second time!
we
did all the typical amusement park things--rides, argued about just how
many games we were going to play and ate WAY too much! corn dogs,
fries with cheese, ice cream, soda, and we shared a funnel cake. one
of use attacked the funnel cake like a night of the living dead zombie
and it wasn't me. =p it was a certain someone who eats amazing
amounts to fuel his next growth spurt where he grows upwards but so far
has not grown outwards in the last year.
yesterday
was a good day too. cathy and i took all of the kids to india garden
for lunch (yum!) and then to pat catan's where we managed to complete
an effective raid..especially on the clearance aisle! i did splurge on
some really pretty paper by a designer who i've never seen before. i
can't wait to work with it! but..it'll have to wait for a little bit
because i'm busy with another project and also had a few swaps to get
ready to send out tomorrow.
cathy,
catharine and i went to our first belly dancing class last night too!
a friend of theirs has been taking lessons (and teaching?) for about 6
years and is giving us lessons for a really good deal. plus it's in
her home so it's very nice having a semi-private lesson rather than
being in a larger class.
last
night we worked mostly on strengthening, balancing and stretching sorts
of things. i think a few of the things we learned were the beginning
parts of some steps. i REALLY liked it. i've been wanting to learn
for years and years and years. even without really dancing, it was
quite a work out. i think the 3 of us all have various sore muscles
today. =D
