it's been a little bit since i've posted, but i've been pretty busy.
i
spent pretty much all last week getting ready for a party we had on
saturday. which means i cleaned the whole house top to bottom and even
cleaned areas that a) weren't that messy to begin with and b) no one
would be looking at. but they are areas i would have known weren't up
to my standards and it would have bothered me to know they were
undone. mixed in between all of that cleaning, i spent some time with
friends, babysat, went to my grandmother's house to clean, kept an
early morning appointment and put in a LOT of flowers which i spent way
too much time choosing at the nursery.
in
fact the putting in of many flowers is what occupied me so much that i
completely forgot to take my son to his piano lesson and didn't
remember about it until about 5 hours after it was supposed to be. i
really can get focused =( i put in several red roses that are the low
creeping shrub ('magic carpet') variety, these bright yellow flowers
that start with a c that i have no idea how to pronounce let alone
spell, dozens and dozens of impatiens in my shady back yard (i'll put
up a picture in a few days once they start to get bigger), hostas and
ferns (also in the backyard), purple and pink petunias, another little
flower that is purple and pink with a white center whose name escapes
me and then some hanging flowers.
i
also have been receiving some of my swaps in the mail. i've received
so many special, well thought out packages that i couldn't really
decide which picture to put up because i like them all. i finally
decided to put up the picture of the one that came the farthest:
The above came all the way from Qatar! It was for the Handmade Star Swap. =) Isn't it pretty?
I've also have been trying my hand at ATC's. I think i have a long way to go though, i'm having a lot of fun making them:
This
one was for the 'What's an ATC then? swap. i chose the color category
for this one. Gray is the color i chose and used various shades of
it. Even the flowers have flecks of gray in that are kind of hard to
see in the picture.
This
one was for the same swap but this time i chose the 'words' category.
the paper was really glossy so the picture was taken at an angle so the
reflection of the light wouldn't obscure the picture.
