Asheville, North Carolina is one of my favorite cities to visit but this time it was the hiking that I enjoyed the most and want to share with you.
This path was well-trodden but that didn't take away from its beauty.
There's something about being outside in nature that is so calming. Rick and I discussed how when you are outside IN nature you don't think about anything really. Your mind just sort of drifts from one thing to another, never lingering long on any one thing. Yet, when you leave the outside you are relaxed and at peace. Perhaps your subconscious works on things--because things have a way of looking brighter after a nice long walk in the woods.
Off the main trail, there was a smaller path to follow down to the Green River. It is very steep most of the way but Nature & Man lend you a hand for climbing down (and later back up). This vine proved very handy and strong. It helped us the first quarter of the way down.
Roots & Ropes helped us on the last few turns of the path.
The first thing I saw through the trees were rocks. Lots and lots of large rocks and if I looked closely I could just make out a bit of whitewater. Can you see it too?
